Setting Up Multi Factor Authentication
When logging into your Microsoft account you may be prompted to add authentication methods. This is a security measure to increase overall account and tenant security. Below are some steps and pictures to follow to get this setup.
When you sign in, you may be greeted by what is shown in the photo below. If so, follow along to gain access to your account. Before starting, make sure you have your phone nearby.
- Click next.
- Click I want to set up a different method.
- Click the drop down and select the phone method.
- Fill out your phone information and select your preferred method of authentication. You will be sent a code and you will put this into the box prompting for a 6-digit authentication code.
- If you entered the code correctly you will be taken to the screen above. Once you have made it here, you are free to close the web browser without the need to add the authenticator app. After you close the web browser, reopen it and log back into your account.
